Our little aquababy...

This summer, Claire and I took an aquababies class at the YMCA. We went 6 Saturday mornings for about 45 minutes. I'm not sure how much Claire learned, but at least we got to play in the water and get her used to the pool. The idea was to teach her to kick and to immediately go to the side and hold on if she were to ever fall in or need help. Daddy went with us to our last class to take pictures. We ended being the only ones there that day b/c it was raining that morning so we had a private lesson. Next year I'm sure Claire will be swimming laps like a pro!

Ready to get started

Kick....kick....kick

Holding on to the side of the pool...

...which is not her favorite thing to do!

Look at that big girl under water!

Claire had no hesitation going to our swim instructor, Ms. Christina - she was great!

We practice floating on her back, which almost makes Claire go to sleep.

A little playing always helps!

Here's a short video of Claire swimming - sorry about my yelling (screeching)!

So I'm a little late reading this, but it looks like Claire took her class at the Vestavia Y. Jeffrey attended Aqua Babies there back in the spring and we had the same instructor! I hope she's enjoying the water!
