Claire is a gardener!

We could not pass up playing outside this weekend with such beautiful weather. While daddy cut the grass, Claire and I decided to plant a few sunflower seeds we bought her from Lowe's! She's such a little copy cat, so since daddy planted tomatoes and peppers, we thought Claire would enjoy planting sunflowers. We've also included some pictures of Claire in her new cow rain boots from Aunt Debbie that she LOVES......she pretty much puts them on every day if she sees them....come to think of it, Claire rotates ALL of her shoes EVERY DAY....(good thing a 19 month old can't have too many) she definitely loves shoes!! Tenni shoes, sandals, flip flops, boots....you name it!

Ready for some fun in the sun!

Don't you love that pony tail on top of her head...we can almost put all of her hair in one.
Claire's sunflower seeds. First we dropped in the dirt pack... ...then the seeds....
...time to water... ...and close it up. In a couple of days we should have some sproutings, and hopefully pretty sunflowers Claire can play with in a few weeks! She's a little young for gardening, but still loves to help!

Thank you, Grandma!

My mom unfortunately had to go back to Baton Rouge this past Monday after visiting with us for 2 weeks!!! She helped us around the house while we were at work and at the same time managed to refinish an entire bedroom set of furniture and paint another. We now have 2 furnished guest bedrooms and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. I just need to get to decorating!! We enjoyed every minute that Grandma was in town and wish she could have stayed longer. She is such a wonderful person and is always willing to help us whenever! We're hoping she'll be back soon for a RELAXING visit. We love you Grandma! Thanks for everything!

I'll post some renovation pictures soon!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter at home this year. Grandma & Grandpa came in town from Baton Rouge and Aunt Deb, Uncle Chad and Cousins Abigayle & Walter from South Carolina. We had a great weekend playing in the backyard and goofing off. Claire loved following her 2 cousins around everywhere...Abby is 5 and Walter is 3, so they are each 2 years apart from one another. On Easter Sunday, the Creel's (Paw Paw, Granny & Aunt Cara) joined us for lunch. It was our first big family dinner at the new house and we all had a great time. Here are lots of PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES from the weekend. With all the craziness we never got any cute posed pictures of the kids in their pretty Easter outfits, but just running around hunting eggs. We can't wait for everyone to come back and visit again! We think they should all move to Birmingham!

Claire cheeses it up for the camera!
Time for shuffle board.

Gatlinburg Girl's Trip

Claire, Aunt Cara and I all took Granny Nelda to Gatlinburg, TN for her birthday last weekend. We enjoyed some great outlet shopping, dinners out (at least when Claire wanted to stay in her high chair) and relaxing in the hot tub. Somehow while we were there, Granny convinced us to hike up to Clingman's Dome, the highest point in TN. I'm still not sure how I pushed Claire in the stroller up a 0.6 mile strenuous hike, but we made it to the top and it was well worth it. The sky was crystal clear that day, and apparently there are only a handful of days when you can actually see everything in such a high elevation in the SMOKY'S. Here are a few pictures from our weekend. Claire really racked up on new clothes for summer, and I was able to get a few things too. We had a great time!

This week Grandma Faye is in town helping us settle into the new house, and the rest of the Spradley family will be joining us this weekend. We are super excited to be able to visit with everyone!

Our Cute little home for the weekend!
Claire is ready to go hiking!
Then she decides she'd rather stroll with her juice and let Mommy do all the work!
After walking 1/2 mile up-hill, we're still not done...
...but, we made it!
And the view really was gorgeous!
It was very windy and cold!!

Claire's favorite part of the trip was watching the goldfish outside of Flap Jack's Pancake House.
She didn't want the grass touching her feet so we had to walk slow in our new flip flops!
Claire wasn't so sure about the carousel ride, I think after 5 hours of shopping she was just ready to go!!
Our only bear sighting!
