This past weekend we celebrated my 30th birthday....whoa am I getting old - you would especially think so the way James talks about how much older I am than he is.....I didn't realize 6 months was SOOO much older! James and Claire did such a great job of making my entire weekend special. James liked to call it his "master plan" all weekend. "Master plan" meaning he made up most of it as we went along....but either way it was very nice. We started off with a surprise dinner at Sol Azteca on Friday. Thanks to all of my wonderful friends - Kelcei, Andrew, Farrah, Jodie, Leslie, Cara, Whitney, Joey, Hayes & Tanner for joining us....I had a great time and was really surprised (at least until right before we were about to head to dinner and James insisted we eat Mexican and asked if I was going to change clothes - guess I wasn't prepared for a night out?).
Leslie and Kelcei
Claire moved on to cheese dip after she spilled an entire jar of salsa on Joey. Sorry Mr. Joey - Claire was so upset and embarrassed. She'll try not to do it again. She LOVES cheese....and would dip her chip over and over and over again...good thing she had the bowl to herself.
Claire loved Ms. Kelcei's bracelet.

The night wouldn't be complete without a mariachi band serenade.
And don't forget the sombrero. Claire and Hayes loved wearing the hats!
These hats are heavy.
On Saturday, after aquababies, James, Claire and I went on a picnic at Botanical Gardens. The weather was really nice that day and not too hot. We ate lunch and then walked around the gardens. Granny Nelda met us there to pick up Claire so that James and I could go to dinner. We had dinner at Kobe and called it an early night. It couldn't be any better.
Claire loves to play in the dirt and then gets upset when she sees it on her hands...silly!
Sunday, on my actual birthday, James woke up early and fixed breakfast - pancakes and bacon - my favorite. Later that day his parents came to our house to drop Claire off and join us for lunch - yummy homemade jambalaya, cake and presents. I got some birthday $$, a new I-phone, and a cute duffle bag.....it was a great day. I also got lots of great birthday wishes from my family who just live too far away! At least I know we'll be seeing them next month! It was a wonderful weekend!
(Poor Claire fell walking on the driveway Saturday and has a huge scrape down the side of her face.....you can sort of see her boo boo's in this picture. Luckily she only cried for a few minutes and is already healing very quickly.)
Where's Claire??
There she is!
Ice Cream Cake!
